Cross pendant has a rugged and rustic texture, chunky feel and aged look.
Pendant circumference is about 0.9" inches or 22mm. Pendant comes on a black cotton cord necklace and is ox-finished for antique look. The pendant weighs approximately 0.33 oz (9.3 grams),
The Solar Cross:
The pendant is an ancient symbol, the Solar or Sun cross, which is probably the oldest religious symbol in the world, appearing in Asian, American, European, and Indian religious art from the dawn of history.
Composed of an equal armed cross within a circle, it represents the solar calendar — the movements of the sun, marked by the solstices. The sun cross in its most simplified form is known in Northern Europe as Odin’s cross. It is often used as an emblem by Asatruar, followers of the Norse religion. Wheel of Taranis is another name for the Solar cross.
