Vegvisir - a 'sign post' or 'runic compass', is an Icelandic magical stave intended to help the bearer find their way through rough weather.
Pendant diameter is 1.4" by 1.4" inches (36 mm by 36 mm). The bronze pendant is ox finished for antique look. The pendant comes on a black waxed cotton cord
About the Vegvisir
A page in the Huld Manuscript includes the image of the sigil and states that if this sign is carried, one will never lose his/her way in storms or bad weather even when the way is not know.
The two runes are Tiwaz on the top and Raido on the bottom of the pendant. The T-rune is named after god Tyr or Tiw in Norse. The legendary Norse warrior Tyr lost his hand in a battle with a giant wolf Fenris while fighting to save his people. Also Tuesday is named after Tiw. The meanings of Tiwaz or Teiwaz are sound leadership, victory in battle, success in competition and personal sacrifice. Tiwaz runic number is 17.
The meanings of the Raido rune are the journey of life, movement, taking charge, being in control, adventure and the right path. Raido gives protection while traveling, helps master circumstances and control situations, access the inner compass and follow the heart. The best way to read the Raido compass of the inner world is to follow your interests and your love, your greatest wishes and dreams. The R-rune name means ride or journey. Raido runic number is 5.
Optionally, you can add the genuine handmade leather pouch stitched with a natural hemp cord. It makes a nice gift case for the pendant.
