Viking Vegvisir Pendant, Aegishjalmur Pendant, Sword and Shield Protection Amulet, Nordic Necklace

This is a real solid bronze Viking style hand-crafted double sided antique finish pendant.

The pendant features the Aegishjalmur, or Helm of Awe, symbol on the one side and the Vegvisir, or Runic Compass, symbol on the other side.

Aegishjalmur, or the Helm of Awe, is an Icelandic magical symbol of protection, also called stave, which has the power to induce fear and to protect against abuse of power. Early Vikings used to inscribe it on the forehead between the eyes. Aegishjalmur's main purpose was to protect and dominate in battle and also to instill fear and conquer fear in own mind.

Vegvisir – a 'sign post' or 'runic compass', is an Icelandic magical stave intended to help the bearer find their way through rough weather. A page in the Huld Manuscript includes the image of the sigil and states that if this sign is carried, one will never lose his/her way in storms or bad weather even when the way is not know.

Pendant size is 1.9" by 0.6" inches or 48 mm by 15 mm. The bronze pendant is ox finished for antique look. The pendant comes on a dark brown waxed cotton cord.
